Gene Carpenter Obituary

Earnest Gene Carpenter, age 69, of Elkhart, Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, the 27th day of May 2023.  He was born on the 23rd day of March 1954 in Jacksonville, Texas to parents Cecil “Buddy” Carpenter and Thelma Stokes Carpenter.

Mr. Carpenter dedicated 35 years of his life to working at Parkland Hospital as a carpenter. His exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail were admired by his colleagues and appreciated by the countless patients and staff who benefited from his work.

Outside of work, Mr. Carpenter was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He cherished the time spent in nature, whether it was sitting in a deer stand waiting for the perfect shot or casting a line into a tranquil lake. His love for the outdoors was infectious, and he often shared his passion with friends and family, whom he loved dearly.

Mr. Carpenter's love for working with his hands extended beyond his professional life. He was known for his ability to fix anything and was always willing to help others with their home improvement projects. Those who knew Mr. Carpenter will remember him for his loving nature, quick wit, and friendly demeanor. His laughter was contagious, and his sense of humor brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we say goodbye to Mr. Carpenter, we celebrate the life of a man who made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, the beautiful work he created, and the memories shared by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the great outdoors he so dearly loved.

Mr. Carpenter is preceded in death by his parents Buddy and Thelma Carpenter; son, Travis Carpenter; and his two brothers, Lee Carpenter, and Donnie Carpenter.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, as he touched the lives of many with his warm heart and welcoming smile. Gene was a wonderful husband of 47 years, who loved his wife, his family, and was always supportive and always there for them.
