Gerald Ray Morris

Gerald Ray Morris, age 68, of Palestine, Texas passed away on Wednesday, the 17th day of October, 2018 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas.  He was born to Floyd Morris and Patsy Stendebach Morris on the 19th day of May, 1950 in Palestine.  He was a graduate of Palestine High School Class of 1969.  Gerald was employed a number of years for the Palestine Police and Fire Departments.  He was the owner and operator of A-1 Bail Bonds up until the time of his death.  Gerald enjoyed ranching, raising cattle and was an avid trader.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Lee Morris and stepfather, Frank Ray Bush. 

Gerald is survived by his mother, Patsy Bush; son, Gerald Ray Morris, Jr.; son and daughter, Casey and Caylee Morris; brother, Michael Lee Morris; sisters, Brenda Bush Beazley and Cathy Bush Basso; brother, Floyd Morris Jr.; stepbrothers, Ricky and Rusty Bush; grandchildren, Jeremy Morris, Jake Morris, and Kaitlyn Morris; and great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Dylann Sifers. 

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock until six o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 20th day of October, 2018 in the Reflection Room and Parlor of Rhone Funeral Home.

A funeral service and celebration of Gerald’s life is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 21st day of October, 2018 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Dan Manuel and Ronnie Harris officiating. The family will have a private interment at a later date.
