Graham Williams Obituary

Graham Williams, of Montalba, Texas, joined his wife in Heaven on Saturday, the 27th day of August 2022.  Mr. Williams passed away unexpectedly at his home at the age of 88.  He was born in Anderson County, on the 12th day of October 1933 to parents Paul Williams and Clara Richardson Williams.

Mr. Williams dedicated the early part of his life to proudly serving our country in the United States Army.  His service to this country took him to many places abroad.  Upon returning home Mr. Williams went to work for the railroad, where he devoted the next 38 years of his life before retiring.

Mr. Williams was known to many as the “Mayor of Montalba”.  He was an active member of the community, who could usually be found at the Montalba General Store.  He loved visiting with his neighbors or anyone who passed through the store.  He loved to research and discuss history and tell stories about his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed riding his tractor and tending to his cows.  Mr. Williams was a member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ, and we take comfort in knowing that he is with Jesus.

Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Clara Williams; wife, Toby Dee Williams; and daughter, Pam Johnson.

Left to cherish all the good memories are his children, Jennifer Goodwill and husband Trent of Leander, Texas, Jeff Williams and wife Mary of Bridgeport, Texas, Bradley Williams and wife Tram of Montalba, Texas, and Barry Williams of Palestine, Texas; sisters, Emma Collins and husband Norman, and Jane Patton and husband Arvil.  He also leaves behind his deeply loved grandchildren, Charles Graham Williams, Payton Louise Williams, Caleb Richard Goodwill, Claire Elizabeth Goodwill, Paul Lawrence Williams, and Thanh Truc Ly, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.

A memorial service to honor the life of Graham Williams is to be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon, on Sunday, the 4th day of September 2022 at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel officiating.

Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Crockett Road Church of Christ.

Dickey Douglas will serve as honorary pallbearer.

A private family inurnment will be held at Liberty Cemetery at a later date.

A special thanks to the Montalba General Store and the Bois D'Arc Country Store for their love, hospitality, and good memories shared through the years.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests your donations in memory of Mr. Williams be sent to a charity of your choice.
