Guida Marie Murphy, age 74, of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving husband by her side on Saturday, the 25th day of April 2026. She was born on the 5th day of January 1952 in Palestine, Texas to parents LeRoy Day and Leatha Mae Williams Day.
Guida graduated from Palestine High School and went on to receive her associate degree from San Diago State University. Her service reflected the same sense of duty, integrity, and resilience that guided her throughout her life.
Guida’s family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in spending time with them, shopping, or traveling. Guida loved late-night phone calls sharing stories, laughter, and the simple moments that became treasured memories. She also loved decorating her home. Guida will be remembered not only for the love she gave so freely, but also for the example she set in the way she lived each day with compassion and dignity.
She is preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Leatha Day; and son, Larry Campbell, Jr.
Guida leaves behind treasured memories with her husband of 37 years, Ray Murphy; brother, Charlie Hal Williams (Donald); and a precious grandchild, Johnna Campbell.
