Jake, words cannot express how much I will miss you. You have been part of my life from the day you were born. I have seen you grow from a little boy into the man you became.
Loving Son. Brother, Husband & Father. Friend to all that knew you. I am so thankful that Don and I seen you in Texas this summer. You were truly happy. I will miss your mischievous laugh, and the way you always called me Brendee... You wouldn't want us to be sad, but would want us to celebrate your life. So we raise our cans to you Jacob Marshall Fancher until we see you again.
Forever and always in our Hearts.

We worked together to build a new kennel for the service dogs at the Winslow Prison Complex. I've rarely met such a good, kind, friendly man. On trips to the complex following completion of the kennel, I always sought him out to shake his hand and see how life was treating him. It was always good.

Jake. I'm having a hard time even comprehending you're gone. I just talked to you the day before. You were a great partner, supervisor, and friend. I had the privilege to work with you for over 5 years, you taught me a lot about K9, especially running hounds. We had some great times together at work and outside. I'll cherish the memories I have of you, from hound camp to chasing crooks, we had a good time. You were the first guy I'd call if we had to go get a bad guy, I knew you always had my back as I did yours. I'll miss your sense of humor and your "Jakeisms" as Lopez and I called them. You were one of a kind and one of the few people I can truly call my friend. Monica, I'll always be there for you and the kids if you ever need me. I'll see you on Saturday and Jake I'll see you again.
Your Pal,
Cody

Jake was a wonderful person to work alongside. I can remember his humorous manner of dealing with tough situations. He could always make you laugh. And if there was any kind of trouble he was always the first to be there to watch your back. Jake we love you and will miss you.

Jake will be missed but never forgotten. He was a great individual, terrific K-9 handler and later K-9 Unit Supervisor. I also know he was a outstanding husband, father and my friend.
Jake was an extremely hard worker and was my go to guy in northern Arizona. Any assignment given, he got the job done. I was extremely proud when he took my advise and got promoted and continued to take care of business, i.e. from coordinating the building and improving new ASPC-Winslow new K-9 Kennels to extreme and dangerous criminal man hunts. During my long career, there are very few like Jake that can really, get err done. Our deepest sympathy to his family. God speed Jake.

Jake - you were one of a kind!
You had that special "cowboy" way, where you said what you meant and would give the shirt off your back to help anyone in need.
You had that special bond with your canine and your staff. When a call came for assistance, you never hesitated to deploy. You were witty and when duty called...you turned on that 'serious - let's get to work' attitude.
The heavens received another angel when they took you.

My heart is saddened for the Fancher Family, the world lost an awesome guy!I grew up with Jake and we had a lot of adventures from hunting on the Mesa in Bagdad, riding steers and playing Little league baseball. I loved hanging out with Jake! Are adventure grew from Bagdad ( living few houses up the street) to Chino Valley where he lived just down the street from my Grandmas house. It was always a joy to be around Jake. He always made me laugh! It has been many years since I seen Jake but it feels like yesterday when we use to tap into his Dad's wild turkey and then add water to the bottle of turkey so his dad would not notice....I have many more great stories to tell about all the fun we had. Great memories that will be remembered forever! You will be greatly missed Bro! Rest in Peace my friend. Again I send my condolences and prayers to Jakes family Amanda, Aubrey, Nancy, wife and children.

Jake will be sorely missed by his AZ DOC family. He will always be remembered as a good friend, good back-up, a caring supervisor, and quick with a joke. Sending our condolences does not seem like enough to comfort in this tragic time, but we hope you will accept this humble offering nonetheless. Jake was a special part of the Arizona Corrections family. He was a go-getter kind of guy always up for a challenge and often bringing his own unique solution to a problem. His presence was missed when he retired and Arizona Correction's loss was Texas' gain and now Heaven has gained a very special soul. He will be missed.
