Jacob Michael Hendrix

Jacob “Jay” Michael Hendrix, age 15, of Palestine, passed away on Wednesday, the 19th day of June, 2019, in Palestine.  He was born on the 24th day of May, 2004, in Jacksonville, Texas, to parents Chadwyck Hendrix and Rachel Rezai.

Better known as “Jay”, throughout his academic career, he attended Christian Heritage Academy, Cayuga I.S.D. and was currently starting his freshman year at Palestine High School.  Jay was involved in various school activities, including choir, football and track.  He was an honor student and had excellent attendance.  One of Jay’s greatest accomplishments was graduating from the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas.  Jay was a witty teenager who had his own style.  He had a positive personality and loved encouraging others.  He was a Christian and had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  Even though he left this world at a young age, his memory will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.         

Jay is survived by his father, Chad Hendrix and wife Angela of Jacksonville; mother, Rachel Rezai of Jacksonville; paternal grandparents, TC and Karen Hendrix of Palestine; maternal grandparents, Tom and Connie Rezai of Jacksonville; sister, Lexie Taylor Hendrix; stepsister, Sydney Chandler; brother, Noah Estes; stepbrothers, Cade Chandler, Preston Chandler and Ryan Flori.  Jay is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.  

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Sunday, the 23rd day of June, 2019 at Rhone Funeral Home. Following visitation, there will be a Candlelight Vigil Service, beginning at half past eight o’clock, at Reagan Park in Palestine.  

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Jay will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 24th day of June, 2019, at Evangelistic Temple with Chris Kenner officiating.  Interment will follow in Roselawn Park in Palestine.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Donovan Castillo, Jaceston Fuller, Cade Chandler, Preston Chandler, Braxton Killion, Chase Herrell, Michael Ray and Reggie Kimbrough.
