James Bennett Obituary

James Michael Bennett, age 74, of Lindale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 25th day of June 2020.  He was born on the 17th day of December 1945, in Palestine, Texas, to James Crawford Bennett and Fannie Mae Evans.

Mr. Bennett was a family man who found immense joy spending time with his grandchildren.  He could best be described as a dedicated worker or even a workaholic.  Mr. Bennett loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing with his boys.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Fannie Bennett and a brother, Earl “Bud” Bennett.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his daughter Tammy Baker and husband Dr. John Baker; sons, James Timothy Bennett and wife Donna, Tommy Kyle Bennett; brothers, Larry Bennett and wife Mary of Harper, Billy Bennett and wife Martha of Palestine; grandchildren, Lacy Bennett, James Austin Bennett, Cassie Bennett, Kylghie Bennett; and great grandchildren, Eli Mitchell Chase Sessions and Kaiden Kyle Sessions.

A graveside service to celebrate Mr. Bennett’s life is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 30th day of June 2020 at Neches Cemetery.

Graveside services for James Michael Bennett are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
