James Harrison Sessions (Cornbread), age 74, of Elkhart, was called home to his loving Lord on Tuesday, the 2nd day of March 2021 with his wife by his side. He was born on the 30th day of October 1946 in Jacksonville, Texas to parents Derius James Sessions and Iva Lou Yarborough Sessions.
Mr. Sessions was inducted into the United States Army in 1966. He fought in Vietnam and received several medals during his service. After returning home from war, he made a career as a truck driver and was a life member of the Frankston V.F.W. Mr. Sessions was a hard worker but loved to joke around and make people laugh. He enjoyed hunting and being in the great outdoors and playing dominoes with his friends. Mr. Sessions also found enjoyment in dancing before his health declined. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.
Mr. Sessions is survived by his wife Peggy Sessions; daughter, Charlotte Martinez and husband Robert; son, Mike Sessions; stepdaughters, Paula Cole and husband Lyndon, Becky Lane, Amanda Black and husband Jay; grandchildren, Megan Winkler, John Austin Winkler, Macy Hallman, Jayden Black, Kasey Garcia and Morgan Trussell. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Tinker Bell. Mr. Sessions is preceded in death by his parents and son, James Anthony Sessions.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Saturday, the 6th day of March 2021 at Rhone Funeral Home.
Funeral services to honor Mr. James Sessions life are to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 7th day of March 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Olin Boles officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jay Black, Lyndon Cole, Alex Garcia, Josh Bacino, Steven Mersiovsky, and Clay Trussell.
