James Michael Wilson, age 52, of Palestine, Texas known lovingly to friends and family as James, passed away on the 6th day of August 2024, in Palestine, Texas. Born to parents Michael Wilson and Debby Jean Coker on the 22nd day of September 1971, in Palestine, Texas, James was a pillar of strength, love, and generosity in the lives of all who knew him. His warm presence and unwavering support will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
He grew up in a close-knit family and carried those values of family and togetherness throughout his life. After graduating from Westwood High School, he started his career working for his grandparents, Bob and Mattie Coker. James honed his skills in the shop at Coker Trucking before earning his CDL and taking to the road as a truck driver, a job that he embraced with passion and dedication.
Throughout his career, James was known for his work ethic and his loyalty. Following the sale of his grandparents' company, he joined Joy Massey at Fowler Transportation, and later, he became a part of the Boss Trucking family, where he devoted nearly two decades of service. His colleagues remember him as not just a coworker, but a true friend and someone who could always be counted on, no matter the circumstances.
A true fan of the Dallas Cowboys, James's loyalty to his team was unwavering, supporting them through both triumphs and challenges. His love for the game was just a small reflection of his loyalty and dedication to all facets of his life.
He joins his grandparents Bob and Mattie Coker, and Arlie and Irene Wilson in Heaven.
James's love for his family was paramount and shone brightly in every aspect of his life. He is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Clara Wilson, and Debby and Ronnie Pardue, his devoted daughters, Cheyenne Martin and her husband Robert, and Lacee Wilson, as well as his sister, Misty Wilson Odom and her husband Troy. His role as a grandfather to William Wade, Maggie Mae, and Winston Wayne Martin was one of his greatest joys.
