James "Bob" Wilson Obituary

James “Bob” Wilson, age 80, of Elkhart, left this earth to enjoy eternity with Jesus on the 23rd day of December, 2019, at Elkhart Oaks Care Center.  He was born the 18th day of August, 1939, in Anderson County, Texas to Albert Edward Wilson and Mary Ann Jones Wilson. He was a member of Congregational Methodist Church in Elkhart.

Bob was known by many around town as the man who rode a bicycle and played the harmonica.  What many didn’t realize was that when he would stop his bicycle, play the harmonica, and look up in the sky, he was playing the harmonica for his departed mother in heaven who he missed so very much.   Bob has finished his earthly walk and has now joined his dear mother and father in heaven.  He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marie Hall and Sarah Alice Wilson; brothers, Albert Edward Wilson, Jr., Herman Cobble Wilson, Bill (B.J.) Wilson, and John Wilson.

He is survived by his sister, Annette Hamby of Elkhart; brother, Delmer Dean Wilson and wife Lynda of Palestine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and especially his niece Brandy Wilson who he thought of as a daughter he never had.

Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family and share memories of Bob from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 26th day of December, 2019 in the Parlor and Reflection Room of Rhone Funeral Home.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bob Wilson is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon, on Friday, the 27th day of December, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Wayne Frazier and Bro. Butch Grant officiating.   Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas.
