James "Jim" Allen Woolverton

James “Jim” Allen Woolverton, age 71, of Palestine, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, the 4th day of April 2023, and is residing at his eternal home in Heaven.  Jim was born on the 3rd day of May 1951, in Palestine, Texas, to parents Nuel Woolverton and June Poole Woolverton.

Jim was very well known for being the neighborhood “Watchdog”. He was a caring man with the biggest heart who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, especially his neighbors. Jim embraced life wholeheartedly and he always kept busy.  He was a hard worker and labored for various companies throughout his career. Jim was a man who found pleasure in the simple things in life.

Jim loved his family and grandkids immensely and was very proud of each one. He was a patient man who made everyone feel welcome in his home. Jim was a true blessing to many people and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Nuel and June Woolverton; and brother, Herb Woolverton.

Jim is survived by his sons, Eric Woolverton and wife Christy, and Josh Woolverton and wife Sam; sisters, Celia Turner and husband James, and Mandy Smith and husband Paul; brothers, John Mark Woolverton and wife Jill, and Shanon Woolverton; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jack, Sidney, Hallie, Madeline, Sayer, Jasper, and Scarlett. He also leaves behind special friends, Gayle Lamb and husband Darwin, numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.

A memorial service and celebration of his life is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 11th day of April 2023 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel where Chris Kenner will officiate. Friends may gather and share remembrances during a visitation with Jim’s family beginning at ten o’clock in the morning until time of the service at the funeral home.

Immediately following, all are invited to once again greet family and share remembrances during a reception in the nearby Rhone Reflection Room.

Honorary pallbearers include Eddie Harris, John Mark Woolverton, Paul Smith, Colton Coleman, Nat Coleman, and Nicholas Woolverton.
