Jane Louise (Roeder) Davis

December 20, 1929 ~ May 13, 2020 (age 90)

Jane Louise (Roeder) Davis was born in Houston, Texas, on December 20,1929, to her parents George and Ethel Roeder. She was the baby sister to four older siblings: Curtis, George, Lynn and Mary.

On July 24, 1948, she married the love of her life, Milton Pierce Davis (M.P.), at the Presbyterian Church in Kilgore, Texas. On November 18, 1949, they welcomed their son, and only child, Milton Pierce Davis, Jr. Jane was a loving and devoted mother to her son, avidly supporting him in his decorated athletic career, and various other hobbies.

Milton married Connie Sheridan in Arcadia, TX in 1973, and blessed M.P. and Jane with their two grandsons, Nathan Britt and Bradley Allen.

In September of 1980, Jane and M.P. moved to Giddings, Texas, where M.P. would live out the rest of his life, and where Jane would live most of the remainder of her life. Their years in Giddings were blessed with happy memories, a successful business, and many friends and loved ones. They enjoyed watching their grandsons play on various sports teams, taking the boys camping and on various adventures, and were members of First Baptist Church in Giddings.

Jane loved being outside, her dogs, gardening, sewing and crocheting, playing piano, traveling, and long chats over coffee. Most of all, she loved her grandsons, and was so devoted to them and proud of them, until her very last breath.

Jane Louise Davis died peacefully, in Elkhart, Texas, on May 13, 2020. She is survived by her son, Milton Pierce Davis, Jr.; Daughter-in-Law, Connie Davis; grandsons, Britt and Brad Davis; grand-daughters-in-law, Kristen and Jennifer Davis; great grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Pilkington and Grant Davis, and Brooke, Sommer and Cannon Davis; sister-in-law, Reba Cochran; niece, Sharon Gwaltney; nephew, Skip Cochran, and long-time friend and care-giver, Diemer Fife.
