Jane Evelyn Lantrip, age 83, of Elkhart, Texas, passed on to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Ms. Lantrip was born in Nacogdoches, Texas on February 15, 1942, to parents W.M. Molandes and Lula Littleton Molandes Arriola.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Jayne Kerby of Montgomery, Texas; son, William Lantrip, Jr. and wife JoAnne of Elkhart, Texas; sister, Rose Ann Husband; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Ms. Lantrip is preceded in death by her parents W.M. and Lula Molandes; sister, Mary Bell Molandes Dill; and her brothers, Donald Ray Molandes, Sr., James Molandes, John “O” Molandes, and Wesley Earl Molandes.
Ms. Lantrip was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family. She was an avid reader who always relished a good book, loved reading the Bible, and she enjoyed watching Joel Osteen on television.
Funeral services to celebrate Ms. Lantrip’s life are to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 13th day of September 2025 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
