Janet Nadine Baker Johnson, of Cedar Park, Texas, and formerly of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, the 21st day of December 2025, at the age of 78. Ms. Johnson was born in Gladden, Missouri on the 15th day of April 1947 to Buford Baker and Rosetta Cantrell Baker.
She retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after 15 years of dedicated service. Prior to her career with TDCJ, Ms. Johnson embraced the role of a homemaker with grace and joy, creating a warm and nurturing home for her family. Ms. Johnson was a talented seamstress, channeling her creativity into “The Rosetta Shop”, a home business where she crafted beautiful garments and accessories.
In addition to sewing, Ms. Johnson had a profound love for scrapbooking. She was a well-known figure at many weekend retreats, where she taught the art of preserving memories with enthusiasm and expertise. Her scrapbooking sessions were more than just classes; they were gatherings of community, laughter, and storytelling, where friendships were formed and cherished moments were celebrated.
She is preceded in death by her parents Buford and Rosetta Baker, and her sisters Katherine Baker and Cordella Johnson.
Ms. Johnson leaves behind her children, Brian (Chrystal) Johnson, Robyn Johnson, Jeremiah (Rachael) Johnson; grandchildren, Haleigh Johnson, Emyleigh Johnson, Zachary Johnson, and Gage Johnson. She will also be missed but always loved by her siblings, Mary Lou Baker, Eva Mae Schmoeller, Wanda “Jodi” Mullikin, Lynn Baker, Pamela (Billy) Glazier, and Buford (Marsha) Baker, Jr.
Graveside services to honor Ms. Johnson’s life will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 10th day of January 2026, at Magnolia Ferry Cemetery in Palestine, Texas.
