Jeff Berggren Obituary

Jeffrey George Berggren left his earthly body to be with Jesus in heaven on September 7th, 2021. He was born in Bloomington, Minnesota on December 15th, 1945, to Robert W. and Lorraine E. (Youngstrom) Berggren. He is survived by his wife Mary Clarice Berggren, his nine children: Eric, Valerie, Jenny, Joel, James, Jordon, Jacki, Jeremiah, and Joshua, his many grandchildren: Lauren, Jerry, Anthony, Amy, Stacy, Louis, Salice, John, Joshua, Stephanie, Jeffery, Ricky, Lazarus, Sebastian, Slayden, Abijah, Quil, Ariana, Maverick, Ellamay, Annmarie, Mathias, Moses, Jereson, Ronan, Jael, and numerous great-grandchildren, and his brother Gary Berggren (Susan). He is preceded in death by his parents Bob and Lorraine and by his sister Patricia Ketchmark.

Jeff was a dedicated Christian man. He lived freely - fully confident in the forgiveness he was given by Christ’s love. He was a loving friend and devoted partner to his wife, (Mary) Clarice. He worked tirelessly to provide a secure and bountiful life for her and his children. He always made sure that she had a beautiful kitchen and someone to love her cooking. He was a loving father and grandfather. He had impeccable taste and passed on a love of movies, books, music, and video games to his children and grandchildren.

Jeffrey was a skilled craftsman from his youth. As a young man, he worked with his family to build their beloved resort on the border lakes in northern Minnesota. His touch is on buildings across North America. He would transform every house his family occupied into a beautiful home. He used his talents to help others and to exemplify Jesus. He worked to build homes, churches, and schools in Mexico. He worked with the RVICS (Roving Volunteer in Christ's Service) Organization across the country. He offered his skills to his home churches, neighbors, family, and friends generously and often.

Jeff was a simple man. He had a strong, uncomplicated faith and the fruit of that was evident in his life. He loved his family. He loved a good story and a good joke. He loved his PS4. He was a veteran (Navy, Vietnam) and loved his country. He was always on the edge of the constant chaos produced by his family of nine. His absence in their gatherings and lives is a giant hole. His family will miss him so deeply but find comfort in the hope of heaven and confidence in Christ’s love.
