Jerry Addison Bell, age 89, of Montalba, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 12, 2024. Born on April 7th, 1934, in Murfreesboro, Arkansas to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bell, Jerry joined the Army when he was 15 years old. After serving his country, he moved to Texas and had a very successful career with the Bechtel Corporation. Jerry and his wife of 61 years, Rita Smith Bell, later retired to Montalba.
Jerry enjoyed working in his shop on all types of cars, trucks, dozers, and backhoes. He was a father of 5 children, grandfather of 8, and great-grandfather of 14, as well as uncle to 3 nieces and 5 nephews.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rita Smith Bell; children, Mona, Kathy, Jeff, and Mark; and all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will host a memorial service to honor Jerry’s life at 10:00a.m., on Monday, January 22nd, 2024, at Cornerstone Worship Center, 104 Cedarvale St., Palestine, Texas 75803.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed towards Cornerstone Worship Center, P.O. Box 1815, Palestine, Texas 75802.
Cremation services for Jerry Addison Bell are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
