Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m., on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Rhone Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at his home. He was born October 4, 1943, in Newark, Arkansas to Blaine and Geneva (Sutterfield) Williams.
For seventeen plus years Jerry worked all over the United States for Bechtel Power Corporation as a pipe fitter engineer. He retired from Bechtel in 1989. In the mid 1990’s, Jerry managed and worked at C&C Wild Game Processing until they closed their doors in 2020. He spent his last few years working for Anderson County Precinct 1 Road and Bridge Department. Jerry had a strong work ethic; he would not stop until the job was completed. When working with someone he could always get a little more out of them than they had planned to give.
Jerry was a standout athlete in high school. With such a passion and love for sports he was always at his kids’ athletic competitions. Through sports, kids that were not a part of his family became one of Jerry’s kids. He loved to see kids give all their heart to win a game or a race. Jerry was a volunteer for many sporting events at Elkhart Schools. He was one of the biggest supporters of the Elks Baseball Program. You could always find him under those Friday night lights running chains. Having grown up and living in Kansas, he was a huge fan of Kansas State, KU, and Wichita State.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Blaine and Geneva Williams, sisters Alva and Judy, grandchildren Jenna and Bradley, and sister-in-law, Beverly.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joy Henderson Williams; sons, Tim Henderson (Tammy), Danny Henderson, Joe Williams (Crystal); daughters, Paula Mays (Danny), Donna Sandifer (Mike); grandchildren, T.J. Henderson, Jerry Verner, Jamie Beasley, Courtney Henderson, Charity Henderson, Brittnie Cain, Brianna Cain and Brandi Cain. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Mason, Brayden, Camden, Brooklyn, Caydence, Gala, Camilla, Lillian, Josie, and Brennan; brothers, Paul Williams (Carolyn), and Bennie Williams; sisters, Shirley Ciociola (Ed), and Nancy Marks (Jimmy); two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jeb Chapin, Kyndal Chapin, John Adair, Darrell McClelland, Wade Crouch, and Steve Moody. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry’s grandchildren, Larry Bridges and Matt Bridges.
A special thank you to Texas Oncology, Dr. Wilder, Dr. Dalal and their nursing staff.
