Jimmy Darrell Allen

Jimmy Darrell Allen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who left us on the 15th day of June 2024, at the age of 78. Born on the 17th day of December 1945, in Palestine, Texas, to parents James Allen and Leta Stovall. Jimmy lived a life marked by adventure, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Jimmy spent his formative years in the rolling landscapes of Texas, which instilled in him a lifelong love for the beauty of nature and the simple pleasure of witnessing God's creations. As a devoted member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ, his faith was a cornerstone of his life. His passion for Christian concerts was more than just a hobby; it was a way for him to celebrate his faith through music.

Jimmy's love for his family was unparalleled. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was a grand family gathering or a quiet evening at home. An avid fan of Western movies and shows, Jimmy found solace in the tales of yesteryear's heroes.

Traveling and sightseeing were among Jimmy's favorite pursuits. He was a man who loved to explore, whether it was a new city, a hidden trail, or a scenic byway. His adventurous nature was contagious, and he inspired many to seek out the beauty in the world around them. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

His departure was preceded by that of his parents, James and Leta Allen, and his brother, Dan Allen.

Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to his family, including his wife of 27 years Linda Allen; his daughters, Tammy Vasquez and her husband Juan, Natalie Pearson, and Jessica Allen; his son, Jonathan Allen; his sister, Linda Knous; as well as five cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will all miss him dearly.

Funeral services for Jimmy Allen are to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning, on Wednesday, the 19th day of June 2024 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating the service. In accordance with Jimmy’s wishes, following the funeral service he will be cremated.

A visitation where friends can express their love and support to the family will be held one hour prior to the start of service at Rhone Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dan “Carroll” Allen, Nathan Pearson, Dwight Franklin, and John R. Boyd.
