Jimmy Conrad Martin, age 69, of Palestine, arrived at his heavenly home on Thursday, the 20th day of June, 2019. Jimmy was born on the 10th day of July, 1949, in Palestine, Texas, to Raymond Martin and Phyllis Kersh Martin.
Jimmy was in the United States Navy and proudly served on the USS Enterprise from 1968 to 1973. After returning home, he worked in the Oil Field, and then retired from Vulcraft in Grapeland after 30 plus years.
Jimmy was a devoted member of Memory Lane Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir, participated in the Saintly Seniors, Men’s Fellowship, Vacation Bible School, and taught Sunday school classes.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Phyllis Martin.
Jimmy was survived by his loving wife Jaunice Gail Martin; daughters, Angel Credille and husband David, Monica Till and husband Donnie; son, Chuck Cleveland and wife Jeri; brother, Marlin Martin and wife Jackie; sister, Wanda Vickery and husband Sam; little sister, Frances Poinsett and husband Bob; grandchildren, Jake Ramsey and wife Evelyn, Jaci Cleveland, Carli Cleveland, Hobie Credille and wife Shelby, and Hailey Goodell and husband Ben; one great grandchild, Raelee; grand cat, Callie Till; and a host of family and friends.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Saturday, the 22nd day of June, 2019 at Rhone Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Jimmy Martin will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 23rd day of June, 2019 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Wesley Veazey officiating. Interment will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are David Thompson, Skip Elrod, Russell McSwane, David Reed, Richard Vickery, and Greg Vickery.
