Jimmy Ray Gardner, age 74, of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, the 9th day of May 2022. “Jim” as he was affectionately known, was born in Dallas, Texas on the 10th day of November 1947 to parents Herman and Thelma Swindle Gardner.
Jim loved life and his family with all his heart. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them new things. Jim’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and gardening. Before retiring, Jim was a car salesman, a career that he greatly enjoyed. Jim was loved by many and will be thought of often until the day we will see him again in Heaven.
He is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Thelma Gardner.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 23 years, Helen Gardner; daughter, Wendy Hunter and husband Tommy of Midlothian, Texas; son, Michael Gardner and wife Amy of Washington; sister, Geany Keul and husband Kurt of Mineral, Texas; brothers, Gerry Gardner and wife Geraldine of Gainesville, Texas, and Barry Gardner and wife Kathy of Frisco, Texas. Jim is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, Kirsten, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Autumn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Please join Jim's family at a Celebration of Life Reception at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 21st day of May 2022 in the Rhone Reflection Room, 3900 S. State Highway 19, in Palestine.
