Joanne “Jodie” Leppard, age 76, of Elkhart, entered eternal rest on Thursday, the 24th day of June 2021. Mrs. Leppard was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on the 11th day of July 1944, to parents John David Lobb, Jr. and June Hoover Lobb.
Not long after Mrs. Leppard graduated high school, she met and married her sweetheart, Jeffery Leppard, and the two started a family. During that time, she took great pride in staying home with her children and taking care of the house. Later, she decided to go back to college and obtain a nursing degree. Upon graduation, Mrs. Leppard, worked in the medical field until her retirement. Mrs. Leppard was a very compassionate and friendly person who had a contagious personality that others gravitated toward. Mrs. Leppard found joy in helping others and participated in the Sacred Heart Food Pantry program where she fed and helped meet the needs of many people in our community. Mrs. Leppard also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking vacations together as a family.
Mrs. Leppard is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jeffery Leppard; daughter, Kathie Lynne Leppard; sons, Jeffery Lee Leppard, Jr. and wife June, John Benjamin Leppard and wife Kristen; brother, Jim Lobb; and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents John and June Lobb.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Friday, the 23rd day of July 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel. The recitation of the Holy Rosary in honor of Mrs. Leppard is to commence at seven o’clock in the evening.
The family will host a memorial gathering from eleven o’clock in the morning until four o’clock in the afternoon, on Saturday, the 24th day of July 2021 at 1789 ACR 1224, Elkhart, Texas 75839.
Cremation services for Jodie Leppard are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
