It is with great sadness that the family of Jodye Tidrow Brittain, of Montalba, Texas, announce, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, Jodye passed away peacefully at home. At only 49 years young, her work here on earth is done. She is now rejoicing in Heaven with so many loved ones that were anxiously waiting for her arrival. She was born in Henderson, Texas, on December 4, 1973, to parents Charles Wayne Tidrow and Kimberly Faye McCarter.
Jodye was everyone's "person", she literally would light up any room she walked in because she was everyone’s "best friend". She was an exceedingly nonjudgmental person, the biggest supporter, and the best mother, granny, sister, and friend to everyone she crossed paths within her life. She had a heart of gold and would always put everyone else before herself. Jodye was the happiest and at peace when she was surrounded by her grandbabies, and her family. She could never get enough "family time".
Jodye also enjoyed the great outdoors and she loved to garden, fish, camp, piddle around, or just sit by a fire with her family. Otherwise, she could be found at the Bingo Hall or playing 42 with family and friends.
Life without her will not be easy by any means, but knowing where she is now, pain free and no longer suffering, she is looking down on us, wanting us to smile and cherish all the wonderful memories we made.
Her smile, laughter, love, and patience will live on through us, until we meet again. She leaves behind her “honey” of six years, Darrell “Hillbilly” Henry; sons, Dillon Eyman and wife Heather, and Dustin Eyman and wife Shayne; stepdaughter, Norma Jean Pemberton; sisters, Jaye McKamie and husband Dennis, and Jennifer Vivero and husband Arthur. Her four grandchildren were her pride and joy, and they will all miss her dearly. She will also live on in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Jodye’s life is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
