Joe McDowell Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joseph Coleman McDowell, III, age 28, of Houston, Texas.  Joe was called to join our Lord on Wednesday, the 7th day of October 2020 after he physically and mentally fought over the past nine months in the hospital.  He was born on the 30th day of October 1991, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Joseph Coleman McDowell, Jr. and Mary Patricia McDowell.

Joe was a 2010 graduate of Flower Mound High School.  He enjoyed baseball, guitars and working out in his spare time.  Joe had a unique passion for life and loved others unconditionally.  He was a Christian and member of Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church.  Joe left this world too soon, but we will be reunited with him one day on the golden streets of Heaven.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C. and Jan McDowell and Al and Marie Lynch.

Joe is survived by his fiancé, Megahn Powell; father, Cole McDowell and wife Jamie of Houston; mother, Mary Pat Sadlowski of Carrollton; sisters, Sarah Van Vuren and husband Taylor of Azle, Rebecca McDowell of Austin; beloved dogs, Bailey and Oakley; and other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service for Joe McDowell is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon, on Saturday, the 17th day of October 2020 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel officiated by Dr. John Allen. Interment will follow at Land of Memory Cemetery.
