John Brent Barnhart, age 57, of Elkhart, passed away to live with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was born on the 3rd day of December 1963, in Palestine, Texas, to parents, D.H. Barnhart and Dollye Sheridan Jeffus.
John Brent was one who never met a stranger. He loved to make people laugh and was always willing to help someone in need. One of John’s favorite pastimes was to make surprise visits to his grandchildren, and he loved working on the ranch. John Brent was a member of the local Sons of Confederate Veterans and he attended church at Crockett Road Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his father, D.H. Barnhart and mother, Dollye Sheridan Jeffus.
John Brent is survived by his daughter Amber Ford and husband Mark of Palestine; brother, Kerry Don Barnhart and wife Amye of Anahuac; sister, Melissa Barnhart Johnston and husband Russell of Humble; brother, William Scott Barnhart of West Hoff, Texas; grandchildren, Makayla Ford, Trace Ford, Macie Ford, and Maddox Ford; and his beloved dog, Sophie. John is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life service for John Brent Barnhart is to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 30th day of January 2021 at Rhone Funeral Home with Dan Manuel, Russell Johnston, Rod Skelton, and Ken McClure officiating.
John Brent's ashes will be laid to rest in Pilgrim Cemetery following the service.
