John Dock Capell, III of Elkhart, Texas, passed away at his home on Friday, the 30th day of August 2024, at the age of 54. Born on the 2nd day of December 1969, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to parents John Dock Capell, Jr. and Alma Joyce Melton, John lived a life characterized by kindness, love, and friendliness. He was a man who left a lasting impact on the hearts of those he encountered.
John dedicated many years of hard work to Union Pacific Railroad, where his commitment and personable nature were well-known and respected. His colleagues will remember him not just for his professional contributions but also for his ability to brighten the workplace with his warm presence.
A man of many interests, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, with a particular passion for Harley Davidsons, feeling most at peace while riding on the open road. His love for collecting Hot Wheels was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his youthful spirit and zest for life. John was a people person through and through, always ready to strike up a conversation or lend a listening ear.
John's love for entertaining was unparalleled. He was a magnificent cook who relished the opportunity to bring people together over a delicious meal. His home was often filled with laughter, stories, and the mouth-watering aromas of his latest culinary creations. He believed that food was the ingredient that bound us together, and his gatherings were a testament to this belief.
He joined his mother Alma Joyce Capell in Heaven.
John leaves behind a loving family who cherished him deeply. His wife, Christina Capell, stood by him as a partner in all of life's adventures. His father, John Capell, Jr., instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life. His children, John Dock Capell IV (Jessica), Ashley Johnson, Jacob Henderson, Charles Henderson, and Carl Freeman III, will carry forward his legacy of kindness. His sisters, Donna Rodgers, Tish Marshall, and Natalie Fraizer, along with his brother, Stoney Capell, will hold dear the memories of their beloved brother. John's grandchildren, Makenzie Capell, Jaxson Capell, Brayden Villarreal, Kole Henderson, Azalea Henderson, and Brooklyn Freeman, were the light of his life. He took great joy in their accomplishments and growth, and his influence will live on in them.
John’s family will host a celebration of life service at a later date.
