John Lewis Ewell

John Lewis Ewell, age 77, of Palestine, is now singing with the angels in heaven.  Mr. Ewell passed away on Wednesday, the 3rd day of March 2021, at his home.  He was born on the 22nd day of July 1943, in Palestine, Texas, to parents Willie Ewell and Theatrice Grear Ewell.

Mr. Ewell was a lifelong resident of Palestine and a loving husband and father.  He had a long career as a truck driver.  He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and had a committed relationship with the Lord. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Theatrice Ewell, wife Ruby L. Ewell, and brother, Willie Ewell, Jr.

Mr. Ewell is survived by his daughters Pearlene Ewell, Angela Causey, both of Houston; sons, John Ewell, Jr., Elijah Ewell, and Joseph Lewis Ewell, all of Houston.  He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Cremation services for John Lewis Ewell are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
