Johnnie Vern Clark, of Oakwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 26th day of May 2022, at Legacy at Town Creek. He was 86 years of age when the Lord called him home. Mr. Clark was born and raised in Oakwood, Texas to parents John R. Clark and Leslie Verne Cutler Clark on the 4th day of October 1935.
Mr. Clark loved Oakwood dearly and enjoyed the country way of life. He loved fishing, working cattle, and ranching. He was even known as Bro. Jack Smith’s “ranch hand”. Mr. Clark was sharp when it came to numbers. He could tell you about every statistic in sports from the last seventy years. He was an avid sports enthusiast and cheered on the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Astros. Mr. Clark attended Calvary Christian Church in Oakwood where he had many friends. He was a kindhearted man who will be greatly missed.
Mr. Clark joins in Heaven his parents John and Leslie Clark, and his grandparents, Walter V. Cutler, Ewdye Belle Cutler and W.E. Murdock.

A graveside service to celebrate Mr. Clark’s life is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon, on Tuesday, the 31st day of May 2022 at Oakwood City Cemetery with Bro. Jack Smith officiating the service.
