Jordan Alex Hamilton, “Jordy Pie,” of College Station, Texas, passed away in the early hours of August 3rd, 2023, at the age of 27. He was born on April 16th, 1996, to Kathie and John Hamilton in Palestine, Texas.
His contagious laughter and remarkable ability to find hilarity in the simplest of moments is what his friends and loved ones hold most dear. The impact of his passing is felt not just by those who knew him in the physical sense, but also virtually. Jordan is remembered fondly by the VR Chat community where he created elaborate worlds and fostered countless connections that reached across oceans and hemispheres.
Mondays spent feasting on Yee Star takeout and binging movies with his mom were his favorite way to start the week, while decadent spreads at Casa Ole and errands around town with his grandmother, “Mother,” were some of his most treasured moments. A foodie through and through, Jordan also loved his Grandma’s cooking, hailing it as “the best in the world” and never missing a chance for seconds.
Jordan’s bonds reached beyond people — he was known for his sincere love of animals and a profound gentleness to the more misunderstood, leaving behind five lab rats, four tarantulas, and a puppy found by a chance encounter in the rain.
Jordan attended Westwood High School where he was the class clown by day and PlayStation pro by night. Studying at both University of North Texas and Texas A&M Blinn, Jordan had an insatiable curiosity for computer science and software engineering, the former of which began when he was just 15 years old. Among his engineering achievements was the ideation, creation, and implementation of data forecasting for the University of North Texas’ grade distribution interface in partnership with the university.
Jordan’s memory lives on in the hearts of many. He was a cherished son of Kathie and John Hamilton, loved stepson of Crystal Hamilton, treasured brother of Brett Hamilton, valued stepbrother of Colton Stephens and Bethany Phillips, fond cousin of Megan Flores, close brother-in-law of Melanie Hamilton, beloved nephew of Gene Ross, and precious grandson of Garland Flores and Nolan Wylie and Gayle Hamilton. Jordan is preceded in death by his grandfathers Griff Hamilton and Sam Flores, along with his uncles, Raymond Darden and Eric Ross. Jordan’s family was truly the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
