Josephine Flores Saenz

Josephine Flores Saenz, age 86, of Palestine, passed away peacefully and joined her loved ones in Heaven on Thursday, the 24th day of June 2021.  She was born in Allende, Mexico, on the 28th day of December 1934, to parents Genaro Flores Cauasos and Brigida Montalvo Marroguin.

Mrs. Saenz was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing her loved one’s favorite meals.  Mrs. Saenz also found pleasure in spending time outside in her garden.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years, and her presence will always be felt in the lives of those who loved her.

Mrs. Saenz joins in Heaven her parents, Genaro and Brigida Flores, husband Amado Saenz, daughter Martha Saenz, three sisters and one grandchild.

Left with beautiful memories that will forever be cherished are her children, Teresa DeFoor and companion Earl Ray Ledford, Gabriel Saenz and wife Sherrie, Cesar Saenz and wife Maricela, Frank Saenz and wife Christy, and Albina Rodriquez and husband Margarito; sister, Raquel Flores; brothers, Robert Flores and Rafael Flores; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Monday, the 28th day of June 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel.  The recitation of the Holy Rosary in honor of Mrs. Saenz is to commence at six o’clock in the evening.

The Mass of Christian burial is to be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 29th day of June 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Cristian Zelaya officiating. The Rite of Committal, via an escorted procession, will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Palestine. 

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Mrs. Saenz’s grandsons, Orlando Castillo, Matthew Saenz, Micah Saenz, Frankie Saenz, Christian Saenz, and Edwin Florian, Jr.
