Kathi Jo Macarthur

Kathi Jo Macarthur passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, the 20th day of February 2025, at her home in Tucker, Texas.  She was 66 years of age when the Lord called her home.  Born on the 13th day of June 1958 in Oakland, California, Kathi Jo Macarthur was born to parents John Nicholson and Eula Powers Nicholson.

Mrs. Macarthur is survived by her loving husband of over forty years, Steven Macarthur; daughter, Heather Merriweather and husband Craig; son, Steve Macarthur; sisters, Cindy Smith, Susan Abady, and Joan Blackwell.  She also leaves behind her brother John Nicholson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Eula Nicholson. 

Mrs. Macarthur was a woman whose culinary skills were only matched by the depth of her love for her family and the animals she adored. She found comfort in the beauty of the desert and the freedom of the outdoors, embracing the world with open arms.

A member of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Macarthur’s life was evidence to her loving nature, and her boundless passion for life. She navigated life's journey with grace, always guided by the principles of her faith and the love she held for those around her.

Mrs. Macarthur's memory will be cherished like the yellow roses she favored, a symbol of the friendship and joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Her spirit, as vibrant and nurturing as the gardens she tended, will forever bloom in the hearts of her loved ones.

Cremation services for Kathi Jo Macarthur are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas.
