Kathy Wilson Obituary

Kathy Ann Wilson, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on Sunday, the 31st day of March 2024, at the age of 73. She was born in Houston, Texas on the 7th day of March 1951 to parents Weldon Brumley and Luna Ferguson. Kathy grew up with a heart full of warmth and a spirit that drew people to her with ease.

Kathy's life was a portrait of love in action. Friends and family will fondly remember her as a great cook, whose kitchen was the heart of her home and a place of gathering, laughter, and shared stories. Her love of being a mom was evident in every aspect of her life, as she poured her soul into nurturing and guiding with a gentle hand and an open heart. Her infectious love for travel allowed her to explore the world, creating memories that would last a lifetime and stories that she would recount with vivid joy.

A woman of Baptist faith, Kathy lived her beliefs through her actions, embodying the principles of love and service to others. Those who knew Kathy will remember her as the embodiment of love, thoughtfulness, and kindness. Her presence was a gift, and while her absence will be felt deeply, the memories of her love and her gentle spirit will continue to inspire and comfort all who were fortunate to have known her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Weldon and Luna Brumley; her son, Stephen Brent Wilson; and her sister, Bonita Miles.

Kathy leaves behind her cherished husband, Phil Wilson, with whom she shared a life full of joy and companionship. Kathy's legacy of love extends to her close-knit circle of special friends, Rita Romero Segeoda, Sarah Wood, and Dixie Coon, whose lives were deeply enriched by her presence. Her sister, Nema Shinn, will cherish the memories of their shared laughter and irreplaceable bond. Kathy also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom she loved dearly and who will miss her nurturing presence.
