At the age of 87, Kenneth Thomas Brewer, of Palestine, was called home to our loving Lord. He passed away on Sunday, the 3rd day of January 2021, in the early morning hours at Legacy at Town Creek. Mr. Brewer was born the oldest of twelve children, on the 15th day of February 1933, in Hagerstown, Maryland, to Guy Brewer and Katherine Thomas Brewer.
Mr. Brewer was known for his loving heart and leadership skills. He was one of the charter members of Court Drive Church of Christ and served as an Elder there for many years. His pride and joy was the Palestine Community Food Pantry and he dedicated much of his time and energy as the director. Currently he was a member of the Church of Christ of Palestine and helped serve in several leadership rolls. Before Mr. Brewer’s retirement, he worked as an insurance salesman. Mr. Brewer had several hobbies, but his favorite pastime included watching sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys.
He is preceded in death by his parents Guy and Katherine Brewer; daughter, Leigh Ann Villareal; sister, Millie Brewer; brothers, Mark Brewer and Ronnie Brewer.
Mr. Brewer’s memory will live on in the lives of his family. Left to cherish the good times are his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Shirley Ann Brewer; son, Daniel Brewer and wife Lisa of Keene, Texas; son-in-law, John Villareal of Lindale, Texas; sisters, Donna Rickel-Green and Dolly Long, both of Maryland; brothers, Earle Brewer, Guy Brewer, Jr. and wife Doris, Dean Brewer and wife Roxane, Marvin Brewer and wife Linda, Eugene Brewer and wife Rene, all of Maryland, and Richard and wife Peggy of Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Joseph Brewer and Lindsey Parker; great-grandson, William Daniel Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services for Kenneth Thomas Brewer are to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 7th day of January 2021, in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with John Villareal officiating. Interment will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery.
Beginning at nine o’clock in the morning, one hour prior to the commencement of service, friends are invited to share memories with the family.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Eric Evans, Bob Pickle, James Helms, David Carder, Aaron Parker, and Lynn Stark.
