Kenneth Earl Knowlton, age 91, of Elkhart, went home to live with the Lord for eternity on the 1st day of October 2021. Mr. Knowlton was born on the 21st day of December 1929, in Westfield, Texas, to parents Lyman Trumble Knowlton and Artie Musgrove Knowlton.
Mr. Knowlton served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Before retiring, he worked as a maintenance supervisor in the Boise Cascade Papermill. Mr. Knowlton liked staying busy and never being idle. He was happiest when he was able to spend time in the outdoors. He enjoyed raising a vegetable garden every year, fishing and running trotlines, camping, and taking trips to the National Forests. He also had a love for Bluegrass Music. Mr. Knowlton loved his family and grandkids and would tell stories of the time he spent serving in the military. Mr. Knowlton lived a long and full life, filled with love. He leaves a positive impression in the lives of many and will always be remembered.
Mr. Knowlton joins his parents Lyman and Artie Knowlton; daughters, Linda Kay Harris and Debra Knowlton; sisters, Alice Creel and Irene Hill; and brothers, Paul Knowlton, Lewis Knowlton, and Willard Knowlton.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Maurine Knowlton; sons, Kenneth Knowlton and wife Deborah Ann of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lyman Knowlton and wife Deborah of Excel, Alabama, Edward Knowlton and wife Avon of Merryville, Louisiana; brother, Travis Eugene Knowlton and wife Marylin of Deer Park, Texas; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Kenneth Knowlton are to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 5th day of October 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Wayne Frazier officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Guiceland Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the start of the service at Rhone Funeral Home.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Kenneth William Knowlton, Trevor Knowlton, Garrett Knowlton, Dylan Knowlton, Rudy Rosas, Isaac Lewis, and Royce Dollison.
