Buddy served his country with honor and bravery in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was assigned to the 6th Army, 2nd division, 71st division, and 4th division, and spent 6 years in the reserves. He was a simple man, whose greatest happiness was found in the love and companionship of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kennard and Viola Pritchett, his sister Janet Parker, an infant brother, and brother Harold Pritchett.

Buddy was a loving family man. His devotion to his wife of 70 years, Myrtle Watson Pritchett, was a testament to his unwavering love and commitment. His children, Jetonne Douglas and husband Jeff, John Pritchett and wife Rita, and Jere Pritchett and special friend Patty Starr, nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. His sisters, Rosa Lee Coley, Joann Warren, and Nancy Berry, along with his sister-in-law, Patricia Pritchett, held a special place in his heart.
