Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Brasher, of Palestine, Texas, passed away suddenly on Sunday, the 2nd day of October 2022, at the age of 70. Kenny was born on the 3rd day of January 1952, in Lamesa, Texas, to parents Kenneth Paxton Brasher and Sammie Lue Hester Brasher.
Kenny was a Veteran who served in the United States Air Force after high school graduation. He could best be described as a “Jack of all trades and a master of none”. Kenny was a mechanic who could fix anything. He loved to teach others the trade and taught mechanics for Brownsboro High School in the 1980’s and Horticulture at Landmark Academy in Palestine. He later left teaching and worked in the field as a hydraulic mechanic until he retired.
Kenny loved to help people and was a collector of many things. He was an excellent cook and a master at the smoker. He made sure you never left his house hungry. Kenny was loved by many people and will be sorely missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Sammie Brasher; sister, Patti Wadel; and grandchildren, Kara Brasher-Hackney, and Lexie Crawford.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Amanda Wardell; daughters, April Nicholson and husband Matt of Mabank, Texas, and Janet Crawford and husband Brandon of Athens, Texas; son, Brian Brasher and wife Christie of Athens, Texas; sister, Karen Garza and husband Andrew of Arlington, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren with one on the way. Kenny also leaves behind many other family members and friends.
