Kimberly Lynn Day was born on the 26th day of June 1963 and passed away on the 6th day of May 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 62 years of age when the Lord called her home.
Born in Blue Island, Illinois to parents Glen Sellers and Dianne Phipps Sellers, Kim was a woman of immense strength and endless compassion, defined by a "huge heart" that she shared freely with everyone she met. For much of her adult life, Kim faced a brave battle with cancer. Despite the immense challenges of her illness, she was always looking at the positive side of life and refusing to let her diagnosis dim her spirit.
Kim was truly a "mother to many". Her home was a place where everyone was welcomed with open arms and a loving smile. She found her greatest joy in helping others, often putting the needs of her friends, family, and even strangers before her own. Whether it was offering a listening ear, or a place to stay, Kim’s generosity knew no bounds. She taught us all that even in the face of life's greatest trials, a kind heart and a positive outlook can change the world.
She is survived by her sons, Andrew DelPrincipe, John “JD” DelPrincipe, III, Justin DelPrincipe, and Jeremy DelPrincipe; mother, Dianne Sellers; brother, Jeffery Sellers and wife Becky; and four grandchildren. Kim had a vast network of "chosen family" who were touched by her extraordinary kindness.
She was preceded in death by her father Glen Sellers and sister-in-law, Mary Sellers.
Friends are invited to a visitation from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, the 13th day of May 2026 at Rhone Funeral Home.
