Zachary Lane Jenkins, 59, of Palestine, Texas left this world on Saturday, the 16th day of June, 2018. He was born on the 28th day of July, 1958 in Dallas County to William Oscar Jenkins and Mary Bell Lauderdale. Lane was an exceptionally gifted musician, as a drummer he received many awards during his High School career. He had a passion for working on cars, being a master technician before he started his own business in the IT industry. He enjoyed old movies as well as foreign movies and spoke two languages. He had a passion for submarines and reading. His favorite genre was science fiction. He had great stories and was very funny. Lane was a dog lover, and had many throughout his life. He had a special place in his heart for his Great Dane Nash and Sten, the first dog that ever made him cry.
Lane is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Jenkins, sister Elizabeth Jenkins, niece Carey Dominic and granddaughter Avery Danielle Dunn.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jutta Seybold Jenkins; daughter, Alice Michelle Dunn and spouse Christopher Louis; sons, Zachary Lane Jenkins Jr., Arthur Christopher Amos and spouse Carlye Kay, and Byron David Jenkins; sisters, Annette Taylor and spouse Bobby Lee, Ola Devon Jenkins, Camillia Jeanice O’Bryan and spouse Robert Lowell Joseph, Cordelia Smith; brother, William Oscar Jenkins Jr. and spouse John Daly; grandchildren, Daniel Wayne Worsham, Kylee Alane Dunn, and Emma Jane Dunn; nephews, Jerry Christopher Pinney and spouse Kristi Pinney, and John William Boothman II; and great niece and nephew, Jennifer Pinney, and Justin Pinney.
Funeral services for Zachary Lane Jenkins will be on Saturday, June 23, 2018 but will be private. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a no kill shelter in Texas such as The Wings of Heavens Gate No Kill Animal Shelter in Kerens, Texas.
