Lanita Ann (Platt) Pharr

The world lost a wonderful person on the 22nd day of April 2021.  Lanita Ann Pharr, age 66, of Dickson, TN, was called home to her eternal home in Heaven.  Lanita was born on the 10th day of July 1954, in Palestine, TX, to Otto and Doris Platt. 

Lanita was a retired dental hygienist, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Dickson, TN.  This wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend was a Proverbs 31 woman.  Lanita faithfully and diligently served and supported her husband’s television ministry, making an impact locally and internationally by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, planting churches, and meeting the physical needs of those less fortunate. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Doris Platt; a husband, Steven Terry Ewers; and her children, Jayna and Steven Jr.

Lanita is survived by her husband, Kerry W. Pharr; daughters, Julie Ewers, and Jennifer Chaney; her son, Joseph Ewers; sisters, Melinda DeFore (Larry), and Jane Goode; and grandchildren, Grayson Chaney, Livie Chaney, Payton Whitinger, and Landis Pillow.

For Lanita’s friends and family in Tennessee, a visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson, TN, on Sunday, the 25th day of April 2021 from 2:00p.m. until 5:00p.m.  

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at Rhone Funeral Home, on Tuesday, the 27th day of April 2021, from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. 

A funeral service to celebrate Lanita’s life will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning, on Wednesday, the 28th day of April 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ben DeBouf officiating.  Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Bradford, TX.
