Larry Wayne Masters, age 82, of Conroe, Texas, entered eternal rest on Monday, the 2nd day of March 2026. He was born on the 5th day of April 1943, in Grapeland, Texas to Hugh Masters and Sylvia Ollise Dickey.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Larry served with distinction as a helicopter mechanic. He also served in Vietnam.
Larry was a professional photographer and artist by trade, he had a rare gift for seeing the world through a lens, but he was truly at home when he stepped away from the studio and into the great outdoors. He loved to paint landscapes and portraits. In his younger years he was an avid hunter and fisherman who found peace in nature, often traveling across the country in his RV or on his motorcycle to discover new landscapes. Larry’s heart belonged to the winding roads and mountain air of Colorado. When not on the road, he was a dedicated collector of antique clocks and firearms, appreciating the history and craftsmanship of every piece. Larry will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Sylvia Masters, sister, Janice Poe, brothers, Hugh “David” Masters and John Dickey Masters, and niece, Laura Lynn Moser.
He leaves behind his loving sister, Dianne Hare, nieces and nephews, Robb Hare, Misty Poe, Holly Powers, Dena Rogers, Joel Masters, and Adam Masters.
Funeral services to celebrate Larry Masters’s life are to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on the 10th day of March 2026 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Dan Manuel officiating the service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family one hour before the start of service.
