August 9, 1944 ~ September 26, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old
Laura Lea Ellis, age 79, of Palestine, Texas, left this world to join her husband Daniel Abram Ellis in Heaven on Tuesday, the 26th day of September 2023. She was born in Mount Sterling, Ohio, on the 9th day of August 1944, to parents Henry Faber and Jo Rogers. Mrs. Ellis lived a vibrant and meaningful life, filled with love, service, and dedication to her family and community.
Mrs. Ellis was a beacon of generosity and courage, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. Her resilience and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her knack for crafts and her handy nature made her a beloved figure in her community, and her love for reading enriched her mind and spirit.
For over 30 years, Mrs. Ellis dedicated her time and energy to the Girl Scouts as a volunteer. Her commitment to nurturing and empowering young girls was a testament to her generous spirit. She took great joy in seeing the girls grow and thrive under her guidance, and she was ever ready to share her skills and knowledge with them. Her influence has left an indelible mark on countless lives, and she will always be remembered for her love and dedication to this cause.
She joins in heaven her loving husband Dan Ellis; parents Henry and Jo Faber; sister, Debora Spielman; and brother, Roger Faber.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her loving children Danielle Ellis, Christine May and husband Paul, Shannon Lazarine, Eric Ellis, and Garth Ellis. She is also survived by five grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Ellis’s life at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
