Larry Mars, age 76, of Elkhart, Texas, was called home by our loving Lord on Monday, the 29th day of November 2021. Mr. Mars was born in Pearsall, Texas on the 25th day of October 1945 to parents Lawrence Henry Mars and Dorothy Galloway Mars.
Mr. Mars was dedicated to his family and his country. He served eight years in the Air Force and received several medals during that time. After returning home he went into law enforcement and worked for the Palestine and Houston Police Departments for the next 43 years. Mr. Mars was talented at many things including woodworking, and oil painting. He also enjoyed photography. Mr. Mars was loved by so many people and will never be forgotten.
Mr. Mars joins in Heaven his parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Mars, his son, Douglas Eugene Mars and sister, Beverly Roberson.
Left to cherish the fond memories of Mr. Mars are his daughters, Stephanie Dixon, Ashley Livingston, Melissa Hammet, and Kristen Mars; sons, Lawrence Wayne Mars, and Theron Dedmon; sisters, Bernice Waggoner, Elaine Cupa; and brother, Richard Mars. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
A memorial service with Military Honors to celebrate the life of Larry Mars is to be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 4th day of December 2021 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Sam Cupa officiating.
Mr. Mars will be cremated to fulfill his wishes.
