Lealand Lamb “Mamma” Britton, age 92, of Palestine, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, the 30th day of July 2023, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Palestine, Texas on the 1st day of August 1930, to parents Frank Lamb and Eula Lasiter Lamb. Mrs. Britton lived a life full of love, kindness, and gentle compassion that touched many hearts.
Mrs. Britton was a devoted and loving wife to Marvin Britton for a remarkable 70 years. Her role as a homemaker was one she cherished deeply, and her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family into the community. She established successful childcare businesses in Trinity, Huntsville, and Palestine, providing a safe and loving environment for countless children throughout the years.
Mrs. Britton's faith was a guiding force in her life. As a devoted Christian and charter member of Bassett Road Baptist Church, her unwavering faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. She lived her beliefs every day, teaching her family about the importance of faith and family. Her favorite pastime was sharing beloved family recipes, passing down culinary traditions to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Britton traveled all over the United States and abroad, experiencing the beauty and diversity of the world. She and Marvin were officers in the Luf-To-Go RV Travel Club.
She was a pillar of support and encouragement for her children in all their activities and endeavors. However, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. The love and joy she derived from her family were evident in the playful banter about who was her favorite. This ongoing joke was a testament to her great sense of humor and the loving environment she created. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her.
