Comie "Lee" Hallmark, Jr., age 75, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, the 16th day of July 2020, at his home. Lee fought a battle with cancer for 3 years and never once complained. He was born on the 19th day of January 1945, in San Angelo, Texas, to parents Comie Lee Hallmark, Sr. and Billie Ray (Havins) Hallmark.
Lee was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elkhart and an Army Veteran. Lee loved traveling with his wife, Jan of 45 years, spending time with his children and grandchildren, working in the yard, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Lee never met a stranger and was always willing to help a friend. He was known as a mentor and a heavy influence on numerous peers in his professional career in the oil and gas industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents Comie and Billie Hallmark and sister Donna McCann.
Lee is survived by his wife Jan Hallmark of Elkhart, Texas; children, Carl Hallmark and wife Iva of Elkhart, Texas, Steve Hallmark and wife Chérie of Krum, Texas, Shila Jackson and husband Travis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Cody Hallmark and wife Angela of Elkhart, Texas; grandchildren, Justin, Kaycie, Katelynn, Kaden, Isabella, Hope, Faith, Taylor, Lauren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Sunday, the 19th day of July 2020 at Rhone Funeral Home.
Graveside services to celebrate the life of Lee Hallmark is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 20th day of July 2020, at Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas with Pastor Jason Hoffman, Johnnie Keeling and Dave Johnson officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Conway, Chad Chester, Jerry Rhoades, Wes Ballew, Jason Stovall, Richard Lasiter, Mickey King, Jimmy Hawkins, Buel Grigsby, Bobby Stovall, Fred Walker, Dave Johnson, Jim Dudley and the men of First Baptist Church of Elkhart.
