Leo Isaacks Obituary

Leo Alvin Isaacks, age 81, of Elkhart, formerly of Manvel, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family at Palestine Regional Medical Center on the 2nd day of November 2020.  He was born in Cleveland, Texas, on the 12th day of April 1939, to parents Arba Isaacks and Katie Roberts Isaacks.

Leo married his high school sweetheart, Doris Booth, and started a family.  He worked his way up the ladder in the chemical industry and retired at the age of 48.  He then began the career of his dreams, farming, and ranching.  Leo found great joy in raising cattle and baling hay.  He taught his family the value of hard work and to always have good work ethics.  Leo was a member of Manvel Bible Chapel and lived his life to glorify the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents Arba and Katie Isaacks; daughter, Donna Isaacks Baker; sisters, Ruby Nicholson, Beatrice Mayberry, Maxine Griffin; and brother, A.J. Isaacks.

Leo is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Doris Isaacks; daughter, Lynette Barnes of Elkhart; son, Michael Isaacks and wife Tracy of League City; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.  Leo is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Leo is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 5th day of November 2020 at Manvel Cemetery in Manvel, Texas.  Leo’s very close friend, Wayne Vaughn, will officiate the service.
