Leta L. (Cole) Campbell

Leta Cole Campbell, of Oakwood, Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, the 4^th day of March 2023.  The Lord called her home at the age of 87.  Mrs. Campbell was born on the 13^th day of February 1936 in Red Oak, Oklahoma to parents Herman Cole and Thelma McCann Cole.   

Mrs. Campbell was a loving wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother.  She was exceptionally proud of her family and the love they have for one another.  She devoted her life to raising her children and taking care of her husband.  Mrs. Campbell also had a strong Christian faith, and fervent commitment to the Lord.  She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Oakwood and participated in numerous church events.  

Mrs. Campbell never forgot her heritage and was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation in Oklahoma.  Her hobbies consisted of sewing and reading good books.  Mrs. Campbell was loved dearly by her family and will always hold a special place in their hearts and the hearts of her church members and many friends.

She joins in Heaven her parents Herman and Thelma Cole; husband, Junior Lee Campbell; and her sisters, Mildred, Betty Jo, Francis, Norma, and Thelma.

Mrs. Campbell leaves behind her son, Norman Campbell of Oakwood, Texas; daughters, Rebecca Avant and husband John of Oakwood, Texas, and Tanya Rumfolo and husband Donald of Willis, Texas; and her loving grandsons, Joseph Rumfolo and wife Kelby, and Jody Avant.  She is also survived by her sister, Doris Henley and husband Alvin of Grapeland, Texas; her brother, Crawford Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services to honor Mrs. Campbell’s life are to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon, on Thursday, the 9^th day of March 2023 at Oakwood Cemetery in Oakwood, Texas.  Bro. Johnny Robinson will be officiating the service.
