Lewis Douglas Bradford

On Friday, February 26, 2021, Doug, our angel on loan returned to his Heavenly home. Lewis Douglass Bradford, age 57, being born with down syndrome was one of God’s special angels and gift to anyone that knew him.  Doug passed from complications from Covid-19.

He was a very sweet soul that cared about everyone more than himself.  When asked how he was, he always had the same reply, “I’m fine, how are you?”; even when we knew he wasn’t fine.  He loved music, old movies and tv shows, and could usually answer any question on the subjects. Doug loved performing his Elvis act in his full costume for us all.  He was always ready to meet and greet anyone with a handshake or a pat on the back.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Madison Bradford, and Doris Margie Campbell Bradford; siblings, Raymond Biles, Sylvia Perry, Jerald Biles, and Karen Barry.

He is survived by his sister Karla Davis and many other family members and friends.

Doug suffered a lot of loss in his lifetime, including his sister Karen Barry, whom he lived with and passed just a few months before him. He was a true joy and will be missed so much by his whole family. Fly high with the angels Doug, until we meet again.

A private graveside service to honor Doug’s life was conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon, on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Campbell Cemetery in Palestine, Texas.
