Linda Louise Rowland, of Elkhart, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by love and the memories of a life richly lived on Saturday, the 4th day of May 2024. At 82 years of age the Lord called her home to her eternal home in Glory. She was born in Houston, Texas, on the 20th day of September 1941 to parents Artis Mosley and Dorothy Sammons.
Mrs. Rowland was a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University, where she refined the skills that would define her professional life. With a passion for education and a steadfast commitment to her students, she dedicated over 25 years to teaching in several school districts, including Conroe I.S.D. and Aldine I.S.D. Her impact on the lives of countless individuals was profound, and her legacy as an educator will be remembered by generations of learners.
An avid reader, Mrs. Rowland found joy and solace in the pages of books, which were her constant companions. Her love for travel was equally insatiable. She delighted in exploring new cultures and lands, with Rome holding a special place in her heart. Mrs. Rowland's zest for life extended to her enjoyment of shopping, where she found pleasure in the simple act of selecting gifts for her loved ones or the perfect addition to her home. Her ability to plan and execute was unparalleled, making her the go-to person for organizing family events and outings, ensuring that every detail was considered. Above all, Linda deeply loved her family and friends. She nurtured her relationships with the same care and attention that she applied to every aspect of her life. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy to those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mrs. Rowland's life was a testament to the beauty of pursuing one's passions and the importance of fostering connections with others. Her adventurous journeys, intelligent conversations, and acts of kindness have left a permanent mark on the world. She will be dearly missed, but her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who were touched by her remarkable life including her daughter, Laura Baird and husband Douglas, of Spring, Texas; son, Ben Rowland and wife Jennifer, of Elkhart, Texas; and her brothers, Artis B. Mosley and Brent Mosley. Mrs. Rowland’s grandchildren, Rachel Rowland, Sarah Pierce and husband Robert, Elizabeth Scafuri and husband Michael, and Spencer Baird, and great-grandchild Atticus Rowland, will always have a special place in their heart for their beloved “Grammy”.
She is preceded in death by her parents Artis and Dorothy Mosley, and her husband Larry Rowland.
