Lindsay Smith Obituary

Lindsay Jean Reed Smith, age 42, of Palestine, Texas, was born March 30, 1982, and until she entered her heavenly home on October 25, 2024, she filled our lives with love and laughter. Lindsay was born and raised in Palestine, Texas to parents Larry Reed and Jamie Holden. Her red hair and brilliant blue eyes matched her quick wit and infectious laughter.

As a child, you would often be greeted at their home with a personalized rendition of your name in the Name Game song, which she would insist you join in “banana fana” fashion.  She loved her Cabbage Patch dolls and Rainbow Brite and rattling down the driveway on her Big Wheel.  As she grew, so did her interests in dance, her trips with Mimi and Papaw to explore the world and making memories with her cousins at Mama Melba and Daddy Jim’s.

Her son Robby was her pride and joy.  He inherited her wit and continues to keep us smiling.  He took such good care of her during her lengthy illness.  She, along with the rest of our family, is so proud of the wonderful young man he has become.

Lindsay was so smart, graduating top of her class in 2000 from Palestine High School, and she cared so much for others, often giving her time and treasures to help someone else.  She loved her work family at Deposition Resources and was so appreciative of the faith they placed in her.

Lindsay is survived by her son Robert Smith, her loving parents, Jamie Miller, Larry and Joyce Reed, stepsisters Regina Hogan and husband Jamie and Stephannie Meredith, her grandmother Jean Davis, brother Lance Miller and sister-in-law Katie, and her nephew Weston Miller.  She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends including her fellow graduates from the Class of 2000.

She is predeceased by her grandparents, Don Davis and Jim and Melba Reed, great-grandparents Mittie Casey and Ruth C Davis, Mack and Molly Reed and William and Corinna Hogan, stepfather Jerry Miller, stepbrother Chad Meredith, cousins Andrew Ganster, Brian Reed, and many precious aunts and uncles.

Funeral services to celebrate Lindsay Smith’s life are to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, November 2, 2024 in the Rhone Memorial Chapel with Bro. Steven Evers, Bro. Jamie Hogan, and Ben Rhone officiating the service.  Interment will follow in Palestine City Cemetery.
