Linney Ray Patton
December 24, 1962 - August 19, 2025
It is with deep sorrow we inform you that Linney Ray Patton chose to enter into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 19, 2025.
The enemy may have won his mind, but our mighty God has already won the war on the cross. If you are struggling with the war in your mind, please do not give up hope. You have so much hope in Jesus. Tell someone you trust or call (1-800-273-8255).
“As it is written, “For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:36-39 RSV
He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband to his love and his lady, Tammy Renee Patton, of 38 years. Together they built a beautiful life opening their home to anyone in need as a service to God. God blessed them with 6 children, Whitney & Andrew, Joshua & Erika, Zechariah & Haley and 7 of his favorite grandchildren, Hudson, Amos, Micah, Kate, Eden, Owen and Henry.
He was known by many as LP, but his most treasured names were Dad and Pappy. He was the absolute best Pappy. His favorite stories were always about his “sweet and innocent” babies, as he affectionately called them. He prioritized talking to them and anyone else who would listen about the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Throughout his life, Linney was known for his love of serving the Lord, deep generosity, kindness, and ability to make people laugh. His sarcastic quick wit and colorful stories will be greatly missed by all.
A traditional service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Corsicana, Texas at 11:00am Saturday, August 30th. Due to the limited capacity at St. John’s, we will be hosting a celebration of life at Southside Baptist Church in Palestine, Texas at 3:30pm Sunday, August 31st. You’re welcome to wear black to show your grief, but we all know LP would want you to show up in style. We want to celebrate the wonderful gift he was to all of us. He brought all of us so much joy and happiness.
In lieu of flowers, Pappy would request memorial gifts may be given to Mission Dignity https://www.guidestone.org/mission-dignity/
or St. John’s Episcopal Church in Corsicana https://sjc75110.churchtrac.com/give so that the gospel may continue to be proclaimed.
“I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”” John 16:33 RSV
Funeral services for Linney Ray Patton are in care of Rhone Funeral Home, 3900 S. State Highway 19, Palestine, Texas. Please visit his online memorial tribute at www.rhonefuneralhome.com, where words of comfort and condolence may be shared electronically with his family.
