Lorenzo "Zo" DeLeon Obituary

Lorenzo Eliseo “Zo” DeLeon, of Lindale, Texas, left this world unexpectedly on Thursday, the 17th day of February 2022, after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  He was just sixteen years of age when the Lord called him home.  Lorenzo’s parents, Eliazar DeLeon, Jr. and Leslie Lara welcomed him into the world on Tuesday, the 11th day of October 2005, in Palestine, Texas.

Lorenzo was born into a loving family with several brothers and sisters.  “Zo” as his many friends called him, was a sophomore at Lindale High School.  Lorenzo had a humorous personality and a loving heart with a sweet spirit.  He was always very respectful of those around him and naturally put others first, always thinking of himself last.  When Lorenzo was younger, he was very active participating in little league baseball, basketball, and football.  He loved to sing, and play video games with his family and friends, especially Fortnite and Basketball.  Lorenzo looked forward to the future and dreamed of one day going on his dream vacation to Bora Bora.

Lorenzo is survived by his beloved family including his father, Eliazar DeLeon and step-mother, Bethany DeLeon, of Lindale; mother, Leslie Hernandez and step-father, Cruz Hernandez, Jr., of Palestine; paternal grandparents, Eleazar and Carmen DeLeon, and step-grandmother, Susan Lea; maternal grandparents, Louis Lara, Blanche Lara and step-grandfather, Kenneth Smith; sisters, Brittany Torres and husband Esteban Torres, Anna DeLeon, Leslie DeLeon and boyfriend Humberto Gutierrez, and Meilani DeLeon; brothers, Aaron Hernandez, Christopher Hernandez, Mason Reyes, Sebastian Hernandez, and Alex Hernandez; nieces and nephews, Aivery DeLeon, Emilyn Torres, Ethan Torres, Eric Torres, and Penelope Gutierrez.  Lorenzo also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family and share memories of Lorenzo from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 22nd day of February 2022 at Rhone Funeral Home.

A funeral service to celebrate Lorenzo’s life is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning, on Wednesday, the 23rd day of February 2022 at First Baptist Church in Palestine, Texas.  Bro. Dan Tice will be officiating the service.  Interment will follow in Land of Memory Cemetery.
